#FF091: ‘Bleary Bodypaint’

alright, since we lately wrote only about music to relax to, it is finally about time to do the contrary. as we were in a dire need for uplifting pieces that strives through your body like butter, we knew that it has been the right decision.
the year is goin’ to end soon, let’s have a jam. shall we? we think, we shall. footwork, club, electronica, hybrid music, call it whatever you want, we’re here to share some love with you, the handicrafter, the labels, the collectives, our friends, your dad’s, their mum’s & our auntie’s.
besides, do not forget to press ‘follow’, otherwise it will end up in a mess, when you start to look for these gifted artists. ok, intro done, shall we talk about these pieces here? yes. yes:

1. Drake – Controlla (KKing Kong Bootleg)

remember Drake’s ‘Controlla’? of course, you do. as the original has been played out on any radio show you can barely imagine, there is no chance that you do not reminisce anything, whether if it is about its rhythm or the lyrics.
talkin’ about the original made us curious, if there is a bootleg that alleviate your mood ten times than now. as usual, we have found a gargantuan amount of reinterpretations, some of them were ok, some not, but a few ones were great. one of them: the remix of lisbon-based artist ‘KKing Kong’.
Pedro, who is already in the music universe for a while, took that piece, dismantled, fused it with his elements, to create an original reinterpretation that definitely needed to be mentioned here. oh, give us two minutes… we’ll continue with the presentation. (approx. two minutes, later): ok, we’re ready.
bein’ part of the ‘Joy’-compilation, which has been released by ‘Boko! Boko!’, a party series that is held in london, you can get a copy of this & nine other stunning creations by followin’ their link.
don’t forget to click on ‘follow’, put this one here on walkman & go after you duties.

2. Dripmob – Act Right (Bored Lord Remix)

as we were sorta in a hiatus for the last couple of days, because it was needed, we missed the news about this chimerical remix, with its intention to animate your body to dance.
originally written by oakland resident ‘Dripmob’, the tune called ‘Act Right’ has been one of the highlights of his ‘Menace’-long play. but before we were able to re-check each of its tunes, we stumbled over the publication of the remix album, includin’ our pick of the week: the reinterpretation of the aforementioned record by ‘Bored Lord’.
released by our friends, the gents of ‘Knightwerk’, a netlabel with the focus on ‘Global Club Music’, it has been quite intriguin’ to go through all the renditions of the original album.
as we already said that our pick has been Clif’s perception on ‘Act Right’, we’d like to invite you to check out the original, the rendition-records & of course the latest ‘Knightwerk’-compilation, because they all are pieces with some *insert fire emojis*.

3. NANGDO – Said and Done

yes, people. yes, we finally managed to check out the latest pieces by this fella here. for those who might not remember him, we’d like to introduce you to berlin resident & dutch native producer ‘NANGDO’. the man with a knack to sugar coat your day with every release so far, has recently released a seven-track extended play, named ‘Trackpack Volume 2’.
its content can be described as the aural personification of its creator himself. as we remember that we got our eyes on this talented bloke for a while, we still remember the succulent collaboration he did with antwerp-based producer ‘DTM Funk’. so, while persuitin’ for juke pieces, we knew that we had to make a stop over here.
and yes, indeed, we did not regret it. listenin’ through the new records, we had to say that the ‘Said And Done’-track was the one that we adored the most. after bein’ on the loop for a couple of minutes, we’re finally here to share this with you.
guess what? the record can be purchased as a part of the extended play for a small fee of ‘€€€’. as we’re here to share some love, you would put us & ‘NANGDO’ a smile on the face, if you would support him by purchasin’ one copy of it.
don’t forget to tell your mum about it, because we can feel that she is goin’ to love this release as well as we did.

4. Rooots – Boooh

penultimate track of the day is called ‘Boooh’.
originally created by montréal-based producer & full-time virtuoso ‘Rooots’, it has been quite intriguin’ to check out this release here. whether if we would accentuate the layers of synth structures that has been merged or the salubrious conglomeration with the bass line, it still wouldn’t be enough to describe this jaw-dropping moment, after pressin’ play. such a stunning piece. sublime. still on repeat & still jaw-dropping.
as this is part of one of the latest publications named ‘805 Volume 2’ by the ‘upstart collective of young and talented producers/deejays, artists and writers’, also known under their famous moniker ‘Classical Trax’, it wasn’t really surprisin’ that we would end up checkin’ out their releases, again.
people, if you want something that sounds really diverse, versatile & refreshin’ & also for free, why don’t you take a moment & check out this compilation?
all we can say is that it has been yet again a pleasure to wade through these aural structures.

5. Londy – Lay It Down

last gem of today has been on repeat for the last twenty minutes. whether if we would accentuate the crisp setting of the vox acapella or the merger with the brisk drums, this footwork-piece needed to be added on this list.
but who was behind its creation? its architect is one of our beloved friends, boston-based producer ‘Londy’.
as were perusin’ the interwebz for content, we had a little chat with Akeem over the aforementioned ‘Lay It Down’-piece. besides that, we had the chance to catch a glimpse of unreleased cynosures that you’ll definitely have to hear as soon as they’re online.
but in the meanwhile, do us, yourself & your dad a favour by listenin’ to this gem here. as we needed something for havin’ our specific ‘hakuna-matata’-moment, we think that this one might be the right release to check out now.
