#FF087: ‘Midnight Stories’
wait, it is already midnight? whoosh, the day went as fast as you can imagine. no wonder, if you’re on the rush from duty a to y & backwards. duties, duties, duties. the things that keep you awake, let’s you coevally fall asleep as soon as you’re not focused. this is the moment, where the coffee should work. but does it, really? not really.
is it already bed time? oh hell no. but before we go to sleep, we have to listen to some harmonic waves that were synthetically created by some bunch of whiz. the handicrafter, the virtuosos, the artists, call them whatever you wanna call them, we mostly prefer creative beings.
ok, we’re again out of focus, let’s concentrate on our euphonies for this day, shall we?
1.ELIZA – Mad For You (prod. MKR)
first euphony that has sugar-coated our day comes from right from the hands of one of our dearest friends & artists: london-based multi-talent ‘ELIZA’. this time, she has teamed up with riga-based producer ‘MKR’ to create that piece that makes someone mad for you.
as we have been aficionados from day one to now, it has been a pleasure to listen through this panoply of sounds. if we would like to accentuate a specific spot of this creation, then we might say that you should keep an eye on the amalgamation between the crystal-clear vocalisation & the cookie-crisp instrumental.
what a butter-melting piece to earwitness. by sayin’ that, we really meant it. so, be assured that you don’t have any butter nearby yourself, because otherwise it will end up in a mess.
2. Dia – Tiny Ocean
what soothes your soul the most than hearin’ the vibration of the waves of the tiny ocean that is right in front of your house? yes, indeed, there is nothing more relaxin’.
speakin’ about oceans, we recently got a message with a lovely introduction about the next artist that is on our list: los angeles-based ‘Dia’.
we have to say we really didn’t know why the text went straight directly to our spam-folder, but we’re glad that we even kept an eye on the mails in that specific spot. after we read through the brief biography that has been part of the mail, we jumped over the provided links to have a preview over the extended play, called ‘Tiny Ocean’, which has been released recently by the gents from ‘Manimal Records’.
the whole record that can be seen as a facsimile of Danielle’s soul: soothe melodies that are engulfin’ your ear drums to rivet your mental den for a while. such a mellifluous creation that sure turned this day from a bad into a good one. be assured to get an eye on this girl, as this might be only the beginning of a promising career.
3. Yumi and The Weather – Well Aware
remember ‘Yumi and The Weather’? if you don’t, then shame on you. we got our eyes on the girl from ‘Yumislavia’ again, as we were listenin’ to her dulcet extended play called ‘Something Tells Me’. we have to say: oh lorde, we felt in love again.
whether if it is about the melo composition, the vocal addition or the arrangement in general, yes, people, we dig this extended play. in honour to this, we’d like to invite you to check out our pick of this record, called ‘Well Aware’. the piece that can be seen as the epitome of the style that Yumi tries to convey, has been sorta like ignored by us when we did the last feature, which is quite a shame so to say.
yet, as we tend to look over our additions, we stumbled over it again & here we are, writin’ about it.
if in case, you didn’t check out this piece here, then folks, do it. plus, grab a copy of this release over the site of the gents from ‘XVI Records’, because it is about time to do something that it has been around time.
4. Oscar Key Sung – Hands (Ida Dillan Remix)
what makes your day the best than listenin’ to the newest pieces that the artists of your choice are puttin’ out on their sites? there is one thing: grab a copy, put them on your walkman & go for a walk. talkin’ about goin’ for a walk, we’d like to invite you to listen to this beauty of a remix from a tune by melbourne-based artist ‘Oscar Key Sung’. the man that we used to know due his decent collaborations with musicians, such as ‘Charles Murdoch’ or ‘Bodhi’, provided seven artists with the parts of this creation, to do a reinterpretation on it.
as we did get closer to the remix-album, we were intrigued of the sheer variety that every artist provided on their remixes. one of them has been one of our dearest friends & talents that we always look over: helsinki-based virtuoso ‘Ida Dillan’.
the girl that knows what she has to do to create these sublime pieces, surprised us yet again. as Ida tends to be known for producin’ decent club music-anthems, it has been a pleasantry to listen to a more soothy piece.
what we can say that she got her hands on, then put the Dillan-stamp on & released it as part as the official remix-extended play over the gents from ‘Knightwerk’.
be assured to grab a copy as soon as you waded through the numerous soundscapes on the record.
5. Lu’Ami – Rise
the day is over, a new one is goin’ to start, let the sun rise again. while thinkin’ about the dawn, we’d like to invite you to listen to our last euphony of the day called ‘Rise’.
as we were listenin’ through this paragon of ‘experimental pop’, we got the chance to take a closer look over brighton-based singer-songwriter ‘Lu’Ami’ & her record called ‘Better’.
the artist who has a knack of mergin’ different genres to create her own, mostly impressed us with the colourful synthesis between the instrumental & her voice. whether if you were lookin’ for someone who is explorin’ the possibilities of fusion & the aptitude to combine it with a vocalisation from a seraph, then ‘Lu’Ami’ might be one on the list.
do us a favour & check out the whole extended play. all we can say that this will be like an aural itinerary.
be sure to check all the updates of the artists, their posts on facebook, like their pictures on twitter, give them a follow, a hug to their labels & don’t forget to eat some vegetables. ok bye.
if u want to send some cat pictures or simply to say hi, holla at:
the end of the tale, but not of this book.
