#FF061: ‘Sedative Skylight’
it’s eastern & we’re back in business. so first of all, happy happy eastern, hopefully everyone found every easter egg that has been hided. so, after the easter madness will be over around 2morrow, we came to together to give you our special easter-treat: the playlist for this week.
before you shout out ‘hurrrrrray’ or ‘wohoooo’, shall we skip that by showin’ you the featured artists on this magnificent list? we guess, it is about time. flamboyant five, part sixty-one, title: ‘Sedative Skylight’ – say hi:
1.Unravel – Amae
first feature goes to the budapest-based producer ‘Unravel’. this lad recently hit us up with a mellifluous mail, if we would like to check out the music, he put on his soundcloud account.
so we did what we have to do & made a stop at the featured track on our list, called ‘Amae’. even though it has been released around two years ago, we still wanted to listen to that stunnin’ piece, and yes, it truly has not been a surprise. to genrefy the sound is a bit a challenge, because it mainly has influences of ambient, indie-electronica & lo-fi music. so, shall we call it just music? we shall do.
usually, all the blogs are featurin’ the newest ish, the things that the artists recently cooked up together, to show the audience the best of the best, with a acrid side-effect. they forgot to show the people the evolvement of these guys, that no one is releasin’ an amazing piece without providin’ their artistical evolvement on their music portfolio. even though, ‘Unravel’ progressed a lot, compared to this tune, we still like to invite you to check out this tune. it won’t be regretful, that’s what we can promise.
and meanwhile, be sure to catch a copy & press ‘like’ on facebook, there will be more amazing pieces waitin’ for you to be heard.
2.Esther Holt – Seaside (ft. Lawrence Greenwood)
we’d like to introduce you to a new member on the flamboyant five-series, melbourne-based singer-songwriter ‘Esther Holt’. we came in touch with esthers music around a week ago, after the agency where she is signed, has sent us a mellifluous mail, if we would like to check out the work of this gifted musician.
so, we did what we had to & were not surprised that it has been a stunnin’ itinerary to her world. by checkin’ out her latest extended play, ‘Cat & Mouse’, we have to say that this is how music can also sound like.
there is no need of bleepy sounds, no needs of airhorns, just a salubrious voice (or in this case, two) & an instrument is sufficient to create something warm, something that comes right directly from your heart.
to talk about mind-melting music, we’d like to introduce you to her collaboration, ‘Seaside’. by workin’ with melbourne-based singer ‘Lawrence Greenwood’, Esther did create a piece of pulchritude that has to be on our list for this week. whether it is about the profound combination of these voices or the indie-influenced instrumental, she sure won our hearts & deserved a mention.
be sure to check out her other releases, don’t forget to follow her path & wait for more amazing art from her.

3.Cresce – Time Passes (Jovani Occomy Remix)
it has been a long period, since we have featured a ‘Jovani Occomy’-release on this series. not because we didn’t want to, sometimes you are automatically distracted by other things, so that it has been a real shame that we did not check out her decent work that she has put out over the last weeks, after our feature of her collaboration with ‘Airwav’ & ‘Shini’.
so to talk about her recent work, we have to say that it has been a pleasure, Jovani. whether if we’re talkin’ about her solo projects, collaborations & even her tremendously-good covers, it has been a duty to write about her again. as we’d like to say that we love musicians, who likes to expand their musical horizon, their mental den, it was interestin’ to check out her ‘Time Passes’-remix. originally produced by breda-based beatmaker ‘Cresce’ (for those ones, who never heard about that city, it’s in the netherlands), what you’re goin’ to listen to a tune that has been created with ‘Occomy’-style.
well, how would we describe that? well first, the solipsistic way of singin’ has to mentioned, there are not many singer-songwriters who sing like she does. besides that, her knack to work with originals seems to be enormously high, because you know – not every remix is a good remix.
bein’ released around some days ago, you can get a copy of her amazing refix on her soundcloud-site. be sure to say ‘hi’ to ‘Jovani’ & don’t forget to eat an apple while textin’ her.
4.The Frown – Light People
next group is a real stunner. by stumblin’ over their latest release, named ‘Light People’, we did know that we have to put these guys on the list.
but who are they? based in south africa, Eve & Nicholas magically appeared in the world of soundcloud around two years ago. since then, these guys have been experimentin’ with the merger of darkness & light. darkness, due the eery-yet-catchy bass lines, light, due Eve’s warm voice. it’s her warmth, her spirit that is goin’ to engulf you while listenin’ to these gems on their site. so while checkin’ out their discography, we had to stop at their long play, called ‘We Are Not Dead’, that has been released in two-fifteen. we had to mention the album, due it shows you the potential that these guys do possess.
to describe the album is like to describe a fantasy movie, whether it is about the variety of each track or the versatile feelings they try to convey. when we first listened to the featured ‘Light People’, we have to admit, that we had to check out the video. not only because of the sound, but also because the visual atmosphere they try to create.
and yes, dear ladies & gentlemen, it has been a pleasure. by combin’ the aforementioned darkness & light, this song has been made to dance or to cry to (referenced by the singer herself in an interview). bein’ part of the aforementioned long play, you can get your copies of this magical piece of electronica for a small fee of money. be sure to say ‘hi’ on twitter.
5.Wide Skies – Gold Dust
last song for today, we’d like you to introduce you to an extraordinary duo: london-based ‘Wide Skies’.
we stumbled over Hanna & Jamie’s project just recently. what we have found was the successful attempt to fuse folk music with indie-electronica, soul & pop. by checkin’ out their discography that shows you the progress of their evolvement over the past year, you’re goin’ to have fun.
but why? do us a favor & check out the featured track ‘Gold Dust’. first, you’ll get the impression of what we tried to convey, second you’ll get yourself a copy, listen to it three times & send it over to your cousin & neighbor. well, that’s what happened to us. whether we’re talkin’ about hannah’s seraphic voice, or the whole composition of these lads here, it has been a real pleasure to check them out, & hopefully it won’t be the last time.
due the recent news that we have fetched on their site, this tenacious duo will be releasin’ their first solo album in the near future. so, in the meanwhile, why don’t you check out their releases such as ‘Take Care Of Love’ or ‘Waiting for The Answers’? we bet that the wait on their newest work will be with that less ‘stressful’.
be sure to check all the updates of the artists, their posts on facebook, like their pictures on twitter, give them a follow, a hug to their labels & don’t forget to eat some vegetables. ok bye.
if u want to send some cat pictures or simply to say hi, holla at:
the end of the tale, but not of this book.
