01/04 – 01/11 (#FF053)

#ff053: ‘kawaii kawaii’

hi back.
monday has arrived for us by writing again. while finalizing the article, we came to the idea of how this thing is going on without bothering us, because it is on a freakin monday, not on a wednesday or thursday.
we have to admit: if you do something persistently, you’re forgetting about how the steps for that are looking like. everything happens intuitively. neither do we spent time on arguing of how to write down the intro, nor do we do all these things under any type of pressure. it’s like an automation, like a natural thing.
we honestly let our feelings do handle the descriptions, what we feel while hearing your or his/her song. after that, there comes the ‘technical thinking’-part.
so, shall we start to talk about these songs that are on this list? let’s do it! article number fifty-three, here you go:

1.Flourish Fill – Mountain Meadow

first come, first serve goes to ‘mountain meadow’, a song by moscow-based artist ‘flourish fill’. we recently got in touch with flourish soundcloud acc, where we were impressed by the decent releases that are on it.
while checking out the aforementioned release, we were pretty sure to feature it, due its groovy bass line & synergetic synth-composition. being part of the recently released ‘magic mint’-extended play, you can get a copy of ‘mountain meadow’ for a small sum of money.
and while you’re considering it, you probably should check out his other releases such as ‘tic tac toe’ or ‘leeway’. we know that sometimes arguments cannot convince people to support someone, there needs to be some art to be shown so that their last doubt is finally diminishing.
be sure to give him a like & start to follow his path.

2.Lucinate – Four Track

before we start to talk about the featured song here, we’d like to say ‘hi’ to a new member of the solar family, the nijmegen-based producer ‘lucinate’. we stumbled over bram’s (yep, that’s his real name) soundcloud-site just a while ago.
to be blunt, it was quite a pleasure to check out his profound releases, that were put out on soundcloud over the years. hip hop instrumentals, with jazz elements, solipsistic bass line-productions you can slightly imagine.
to give an accurate example of ‘lucinate’s way of sounding, we just put ‘four track’ on the list. being part of the ‘skip’-extended play, you can get your copy on the bandcamp-page of ‘king deluxe’, a canadian collective.
what your going to get are three decent releases, with the aforementioned jazzy-elements, hip hop-influences & catchy melodies.
we’d like to invite you to take a look on his soundcloud-page, start to follow him on facebook & say ‘hi’ to the collective.

3.Chants – All Underwater (feat. Mereki) (Kid Smpl Remix)

it’s a pleasure again to feature a ‘kid smpl’ release, or to be precisely here: a reinterpretation of ‘all underwater’, which is a collaboration between wisconsin-based producer ‘chants’ & aussie singer-songwriter ‘mereki’. if you never heard of these guys, you might consider to take five minutes of your leisure, to listen & follow them all.
while ‘kid smpl’ mostly gained public’s attention by trenchant bass music releases, such as his latest extended play ‘response/ascend’ on LA-based ‘symbols’, a label founded by the one & only ‘kastle’, the producer ‘chants’ will be in your heart due his mellifluous synth-compositions & ‘mereki’ due to her seraphic voice, which is featured on this track.
the biggest pleasure besides finding out that there exists that kind of artist-combination, was the comparison between the original & ‘kid smpl’s energetic reinterpretation. being released on ‘hush hush records’, a seattle-based netlabel, you’re going to get something that is..

‘dedicated to curating an emotional and introspective sound that’s free of specific genre boundaries and ideal for headphone sessions, late-night travels and intimate encounters’

what ‘smpl’ tried to convey with his reinterpretation was an emotional itinerary with a darker-sounding bassline (in comparison with the original) & a profound panoply of fx’s.
the song is part of the ‘we are all underwater’ long play & is available for a small donation of money on the bandcamp-site of ‘hush hush records’. be sure to get your copies & don’t forget to thank them all.

4.Fast Wolf – Blue Spruce

‘blue spruce’ is the next song we’re going to talk about. being produced & released by the edmonton-based producer ‘fast wolf’, you’re going to listen to a tantalizing song. tantalizing, due its mesmerizing raucously-sounding bass line or its eery-yet-catchy melody. its creator has started to put out music on the soundcloud-thing around two years ago. benoit, which is his real name, mostly gained the attention of us due his cataconic tracks that has been put out for this period of time.
unfortunately, the song is only available on ‘fast wolf’s soundcloud page, yet it doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t make a listen to his discography.
so, before you’re going to think about it, do us a favor & make the step. get on his soundcloud site & let the music do the rest. we’re pretty sure that you’ll understand what we did mean with it. thanks.

5.Bored Lord – No Matter (Where We Go)

last song for today is ‘no matter (where we go’) by memphis-based producer ‘bored lord’. we stumbled over clifton’s acc (which is his real name) actually some hours ago. what we found out while perusing his discography was that he magically appeared on the soundcloud-universe around two years ago.
since then, he has gained public’s attention with beats over beats, currently counting nearly two thousand followers on soundcloud. by checking out his releases over the last months, you’ll nod & understand why people are checking this stud out.
what you’re going to hear are trenchant basslines, fused with catchy melodies & a panoply of vocal-chops. this kind of description perfectly fits also for the featured song ‘no matter (where we go)’ of his ‘digital spell’ extended play, which has been released for free on the netlabel ‘rare nnudes’ on their bandcamp-site.
if you’re a fan of dank-yet-catchy bass lines, clifton’s account might be the right place to look for. a big shoutout to ‘bored lord’ & ‘rare nnudes’.
